About Delia Pizza Family Restaurant

Ted and Soula Theodorou shared a dream of opening their own restaurant, and in 1981 opened Delia's in Springfield, Virginia. Ted's knowledge of cuisine and Soula's engaging personality have earned Delia's the notoriety and loyal following that it receives today. Delia's has garnered awards including "Best Tasting Low Cholesterol Pizza in the entire D.C. Metropolitan Area," as seen on the Discovery Channel with Lynn Fischer, host and author of "Low Cholesterol & Gourmet Food." Delia's has also been touted as one of the best pizzerias in the country in the book "Everybody Loves Pizza," endorsed by Mario Batali, Food Network celebrity chef and best-selling author. Their perfection of Old World recipes and family atmosphere have kept their guests coming back for over 25 years!

Growing up, their son George has learned the art of the restaurant business working side-by-side with his parents, knowing that one day the business would be his own. After finishing college, George took his place as General Manager, and joined the family legacy that is Delia's. George inherited the work ethic of Ted and Soula, and couples it with his earnest desire to impress his patrons. "My parents have spent over 25 years perfecting our pizzas and Mediterranean cuisine. It has to be fresh, have an intoxicating aroma, and a presentation you almost don't want to disturb."

MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT

DEFINATELY A 5 STAR RESTAURANT! I love this restaurant. I have eaten in and carried out. You can call ahead to order carry out. If you like pizza you'll LOVE THEIR PIZZA! They have an extensive menu and specials everyday as well. Everything is prepared fresh from fresh ingrediants. Servings of most dishes are enough for eat in and take home for a second meal as well. I have yet to have a dinner I didnt like and I AM PICKY! They are Greco-Italian-Peruvian (my description) The Peruvian Chicken plate with Yucca is a delight, the chicken is always moist and the spices are perfect, flavorful and not too spicy hot. Yucca is prepared by deep frying and taste somewhat like potatos but are more flavorful. Two dipping sauces are provided. Other side dishes are also available to choose for your chicken. I love their Calamari, the portion is large, the coating is light and it is never rubbery, good marianara sauce is served with it for dipping. Their Greek "mac and cheese" called Pasticio will melt in your mouth, made with a special cream mix and a hint of nutmeg I can't get enough of it. Every friend I have brought here has become a faithful customer. Delias can handle large groups but you should call ahead to let them know so they can be ready for you. Service can be a bit slow sometimes but the servers are very friendly. The manager George is to die for georgeous and knows how to treat his customers! Nicholas the other manager is really terrific as well! By The Way, they are families friendly, family friendly, and service dog friendly. Restrooms are handicapped accesable and well kept. Parking is close but not generous, however, I have never waited more than 2 or 3 minuets to park. NO slots are handicapped accesable close to the resaturant just at one end of the little strip mall. They are open for lunch and dinner weekdays and breakfast, lunch and dinner week-ends. Hours of service are: Monday to Friday open at 11 AM, Monday Thurs close at 9:30. Open for breakfast on weekends at 8 AM and close Friday and Saturday at 10 PM and Sunday at 9PM. NO RESERVATIONS NEEDED, DRESS IS CASUAL & THIS IS A NON SMOKING RESTAURANT-HOORAY! So come on down and see for yourself why this is the most popular restaurant in Springfield.

You want a pizza me?

This food establishment located in a strip mall serves one of the best gooey cheesiest pizza in the area. The cheese is piled on and the toppings are fresh and tasty. Besides pizza, the restaurants serves great pasta and chicken. The shrimp pasta is one of my favorite dishes and they don't skimp on the shrimp. One thing that perturbs me about the shrimp is that they leave the shell on the shrimp and one has to stop and peel the shrimp after so many bites.
